Tonight I read part of a Conference talk by Elder D. Todd Christofferson called The Blessing of Scripture. He speaks a lot of the history of the translation of the Bible to English and it becoming more readily available to the masses. He says, "Today the Bible and other scripture are readily at hand, yet there is a growing scriptural illiteracy because people will not open the books." I find that is so interesting that we still struggle with a scriptural illiteracy today but not for the same reason as in history. I'm really tired tonight so I've only read a part of this talk. I really am grateful that it has got me thinking about the importance of the scriptures and all I can learn from them and continue to apply in my own life. I know I can do better at opening my scriptures and learning the stories found within. I believe there is great power found within the pages of scripture.
