Tonight I read 2 Nephi 1:10-32 about Lehi's last blessings to his sons. There are a few themes that are repeated. The first is that if they would keep the commandments they would prosper in the land. The second is a pleading for them to awake and rise up from the dust. My favorite verse is 21 which says, "arise from the dust, my sons, and be men, and be determined in one mind and in one heart, united in all things, that ye may not come down into captivity." I love the idea of being of one heart and one mind. That is an ideal I am striving to work towards within my own family and hopefully extending beyond to my friends and community. I believe it is a powerful place to be that invites great freedom and prosperity.
