I read an Ensign article from September 2010 by L. Tom Perry called To Returned Missionaries. Even though I'm not a returned missionary I really enjoyed the article. I can't relate to what it feels like to be so consistent and diligent in the areas of prayer, scripture study, and sharing the gospel 24/7, but I can imagine the feeling is powerful. I reread the article later with my husband and asked him lots of questions about his own experiences and feelings from his mission. The reason I liked this talk so much was because it got me thinking about having a family or parent "training center," similar to the regimen of the MTC so that parents can develop these habits of "frequent, consistent and mighty prayer, individual and companion scripture study, and the joy of teaching the gospel." I really want to do these things more together as a family and as a couple. I feel it would really help to strengthen us and bring us closer together, being united more in purpose.
