Tonight I feel like reading in the D&C somewhere. I opened up to D&C 46 and read that section. It is about the gifts of the Spirit. I noticed it said to "ask in the Spirit..." and went back through and counted how many times it repeated that advice. It is repeated three times to "ask in the Spirit" or "ask of God" and that "he that asketh in the Spirit asketh according to the will of God; wherefore it is done even as he asketh." I really find comfort in that, to know that when I ask in the Spirit, I am in line with the Lord's will.

My favorite verse in this section was verse 7, which says, "But ye are commanded in all things to ask of God, who giveth liberally; and that which the Spirit testifies unto you even so I would that ye should do in all holiness of heart, walking uprightly before me, considering the end of your salvation, doing all things with prayer and thanksgiving, that ye may not be seduced by evil spirits, or doctrines of devils, or the commandments of men." For some reason the phrase "holiness of heart" really stood out to me. I am trying to do what I have felt prompted to do by the Spirit in my life at this time, and I love the reminder to do it with "holiness of heart." That phrase just has a peaceful feeling to it that I love. It brings a smile to my face.
