Tonight I read the opening and closing messages from last General Conference by our prophet, President Monson. It's Conference eve and I am really looking forward to the spiritual feast of this weekend. From these messages I read tonight, one point stood out to me in regards to conference, and that is that those who give the messages have "sought heaven's help concerning the messages they give." I believe that is true and I have a testimony that these conference talks are messages that the Lord wants me to hear and internalize.
The other quote I loved from President Monson that I read tonight is: "My counsel for all of us is to look to the lighthouse of the Lord. There is no fog so dense, no night so dark, no gale so strong, no mariner so lost but what its beacon light can rescue. The lighthouse of the Lord sends forth signals readily recognized and never failing." I have always loved lighthouses, and I find great comfort in this statement. I know the Lord loves every one of His children and desires their eternal happiness. If I choose to follow His light, I know He guides to safe harbors.
