Tonight I read in D&C 70:1-18. What really stood out to me the most was verse 14. The Lord says, "in your temporal things you shall be equal, and this not grudgingly, otherwise the abundance of the manifestations of the Spirit shall be withheld." This stood out to me because as saints we are not equal in our temporal things, thus we are missing out on an "abundance" of spiritual manifestations. I believe the being equal in temporal things is referring to the law of consecration which we do not live as saints. We have covenanted to live this law when it is time, and so I am trying to prepare myself for it. I think one of the biggest keys is detaching myself from material things so I am not emotionally attached to them. I feel I've done a pretty good job at that. I think another big key is learning how to produce and use my talents to bless others. The more I produce the more money will flow to me and the more money I have the more I can help contribute temporally to the building up of the kingdom of God. Living within my means and carefully budgeting and not spending money we don't have are all important components of practicing being a good producer. I am working at it!! I am committed to the learning process.
