Tonight I read a few articles from the September 2010 Ensign, starting with the First Presidency message by Elder Eyring called The Book of Mormon as a Personal Guide. It stood out to me when he said, "the precepts of the Book of Mormon are the commandments of God we find in it." He also quoted Joseph Smith saying that, "a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts than by any other book." As I read this I felt the Spirit confirm in my heart that the commandments of God are very clear and easy to understand in the Book of Mormon. I feel a lot of gratitude for the Book of Mormon and the guide it is for me. It does help me be obedient and understand my Heavenly Father's plan for me.
