I read Alma 52 tonight which is another war chapter. It tells of how Moroni and Teancum were able to trick the Lamanites out of the city of Mulek and retake possession of it as well as take a lot of prisoners who weren't willing to give up their weapons. The chapter covers a period of about two years, which is what struck me the most: just thinking of how many years are spent in war in these accounts in the Book of Mormon. I often wonder why so many battles and wars are included in the scriptures. I don't know the answer to that.
