I really am looking forward to when I can get back on a normal schedule. We have been traveling and then I went up north and brought the kids back with me. Having just my own family to take care of in our home will really help me to do this study during the day, rather than at night when I am extremely tired.
Tonight I read half of a talk by Quentin L. Cook called We Follow Jesus Christ. I love the scripture he quotes: "By this shall men know that ye are my disciples, if he have love one to another." I thought another quote he shared by Joseph Smith was interesting and an excellent reminder of where our hearts should be centered: on Jesus Christ, His life, death and resurrection. Everything else about our religion is "only appendages to it." I feel that was a great reminder to me that being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints means, number one, that I AM a disciple of Christ, period. That's where I want to keep my focus, and like President Hinckley said, I want the meaningful expression of my life to exemplify my faith and testimony of Jesus Christ.
One thing I keep thinking about is my sister. Right now I see her involved in promoting the idea of "good without God." I am perplexed by that. Where would that mentality lead one to? I believe that all good things come of Christ.
