I'm starting a new notebook for this study. And I happen to be on an airplane headed to Cleveland, Ohio for two weeks. This will be a real test of my commitment to my daily gospel study, being out of my element. I have a small copy of the Book of Mormon which I will read from. I read Helaman 5:1-8 and the thing that stuck out most to me is how it talks about the names that Nephi and Lehi were given. Their father gave them their names so they would remember their ancestors and when they remember them that they will remember their works and then be inspired to also do good works. A name is so important. We chose to give Joseph his name to help him remember the examples and works of righteousness of the Josephs who have gone before. And speaking of names, it also makes me think of my baptismal covenant to take the name of Jesus Christ. With His name on me, it also helps me to remember to do my best to follow His example and to remember Him. Even this weekend, I made a specific point of wearing a necklace with the words "remember" on it to help me do just that: remember my covenants and remember my Savior.
