Tonight I read a Conference talk by Bishop Edgely called Faith - the Choice is Yours. "When our sacred doctrine and beliefs are challenged, this is our opportunity to choose. ... Choose faith over doubt, choose faith over fear, choose faith over the unknown and the unseen, and choose faith over pessimism." I love choosing! My choice is an active, cognitive one. By choosing faith it does not mean that I am not thinking for myself or that I am following blindly without questioning. I am choosing faith and I want to always choose faith. It isn't always easy to, either, because just like Bishop Edgely expressed, there are many things I don't know. I'm okay with not knowing everything because I really do feel like I "know the important. I know the plain and simple gospel truths that lead to salvation and exaltation." It doesn't matter how strong my faith is or ever will be, it will always be in need of "constant nourishment through continued scripture study, prayer, and the application of his word." I am very grateful for my faith and I am proud of my choice to believe.
