Today I read a couple of articles in the new magazine the church released about temples. I have felt the Spirit a lot today, and have enjoyed basking in the peace and joy of the gospel. The first article read was by President Monson about the blessings of the temple. I am really thankful for the temple and to have one so near. It is a wonderful gift to be able to enter the house of the Lord and feel His peace there. The second article I read was by President Hinckley called Why These Temples? I really feel blessed with the promises of being sealed together as an eternal family in the holy temple. I also read half of the article by Boyd K. Packer called The Holy Temple. I really liked the part where he emphasizes that the teaching in the temple is symbolic. And even the temple itself is symbolic, "bathed in light, standing out in the darkness, becomes symbolic of the power and inspiration of the gospel of Jesus Christ standing as a beacon in a world that sinks ever further into spiritual darkness." Again I am so thankful for that wonderful building and especially for the ordinances that take place inside. I am thankful for the Lord's promises to me if I chose to be obedient to His commandments and honor my covenants. This is of supreme importance to me in my life.
